the people who work here
The camp is run by the Twari family, who are a part of the Al Muzeina Bedouin tribe, the largest of the 10 tribes of the area and the last to arrive, having come to the area in the 16th century from Saudi Arabia. Mohamed, Musa, Abdullah, Aadil and Salah are of this family.
Jablee the chef and Suleiman the driver are from a different tribe, they are Al Jebeliya from the area of Saint Katherine. This tribe arrived in the area 1400 years ago from Romania in the service of the Roman emperor, to protect the new monastery. Read about the Bedouin people of the Sinai.

GAVIN LIVITCH - LONDON - NOVEMBER 2009
I came to Dahab in 1996. It's changed a lot since then. This time round I spent my first week and a half wishing there were still places like this. It's quiet here, you can have a conversation without having to compete with somebodys stereo.

I am from the Ukraine and I am a yoga teacher. I live in Dahab and teach yoga to anyone who is interested in the correct yoga practice for a healthy body and mind. I like to spend time in the camp with my Bedouin friends. For matters relating to yoga classes please contact me on +20198247432.

Wow it was incredible, just incredible! The colours! I was in paradise! And that was just the diving. I was always tired in the evening so I didn't have the energy to go out for something to eat. Rice and salad and then these vegetables. Hey, I taught all the Bedouins how to play wizard. They beat me every time. It was soo depressing. JumAAAH!
